“Beautiful Hebei, New Year Blessing” Hebei foreign experts Chinese culture experience activity was held in Hebei Foreign Studies University(HFSU) on the afternoon of January 7th, 2020. This activity was sponsored by the Foreign Experts Bureau of Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Department, organized by Hebei Foreign Science and Technology Exchange Center, and co-organized by HFSU. Guo Yuming, Deputy Director of Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Department, Wang Zhongqun, Director of Foreign Expert Management Office of Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Department, Zhang Jie, Director of Hebei Foreign Science and Technology Exchange Center, and Sun Yifang, Deputy Director of Foreign Expert Management Office of Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Department has attended the event.
The series of cultural experience activities of “Warm Heart with Service, Gather People with Activity” are the targeted management and service work carried out by Hebei Science and Technology Department to improve the "cultural environment" for foreign experts to work and live in Hebei. On the arrival of the New Year, HFSU held a Chinese culture experience activity for foreign experts to welcome and celebrate the Chinese New Year, in order to comfort them to work and live better in Hebei.
Spring Atmosphere Spilled from the Tea Cup
Yan Li, National Technician on Tea Appraisal, Vice President of Tea Marketing Association presented Chinese tea art to foreign experts at the cultural center of HFSU. To help the foreign experts to have a better understanding of the Chinese tea cultures, Ms. Yan Li explained in details through the process of tea brewing and tea sipping.
With the fresh fragrance of tea and together with the arrival of the Spring Festival, foreign experts enjoy a lot and blend the tea fragrance into the festival atmosphere.
Celebrate Spring Festival with a splash of ink
It is a traditional custom for every Chinese to paste couplets and Chinese character “Fu” on the door in the beginning of New Year to welcome and celebrate Spring Festival. Therefore, calligraphy combining spring couplet is an important carrier of Chinese culture. With the theme of “Beautiful Hebei, New Year Blessing” a Spring couplet writing activity was held in HFSU.
Professor Sun Jianzhong, Chairman and President of Hebei Foreign Studies University (HFSU) also sent out his New Year wishes to everyone. He pointed out the “Belt and Road” initiative is the most noticeable contemporary movement in the world. China is the leading singer but not a sol, it should be a symphony with all countries together, we can hardly do without the help of all foreign experts, because they are the emissaries who spread the friendship between China and other foreign countries.
Guo Yuming, Deputy Director of Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Department, warmly welcomed the experts and representatives from various fields whom attend this meeting, and sent his wishes accordingly. Hope with this opportunity to deepen practical cooperation between foreign friends in Hebei from all walks of life in various fields. Hebei Province will, as always, create a better environment and more high-quality and efficient services for foreign experts in our province.
With the theme of the activity, we invited the famous calligraphers of our province to write and teach our foreign experts on how to write the Spring Festival couplets with the Chinese brush.
Wrap Our Friendship into Dumplings
Yummy dumplings contain rich Chinese food culture, every time when the Spring Festival comes, each family will bring a bowl of steaming dumplings on the table as one common memory for all Chinese people to celebrate the New Year. Hereby, Deputy Director Guo Yuming and Director Wang Zhongqun joined hands together with foreign experts to the stuff canteen of HFSU, to teach and show foreign experts how to make dumplings hand by hand.
Under the guidance of the Tea and Calligraphy artists, every foreign expert enjoyed the New Year atmosphere and experienced Chinese culture with the tea art, wrote Spring couplets, and send out wished and blessings to each other.
